Jocelyn and Daniel had their ceremony and reception at the historic Carolina Inn in Chapel Hill, NC.
They were married in the Chancellor’s Ballroom and then guests made their way to the pre-function area outside the Old Well Room for cocktails. I had music playing as they arrived. Once the hour was over, it was time for introductions. I just announced Jo and Dan into the room to the song “The Infanta” by The Decemberists. They went right into their first dance “Here, There, Everywhere” by The Beatles. Next, Jo and her dad danced to “Cello Suite No. 1” by Yo Yo Ma. Then Dan and his mother danced to “Octopus’ Garden” by The Beatles. After the dances, Jo’s stepfather Bert welcomed all of the guests and the food stations opened.
The maid of honor and best man gave their toasts following dinner and then Jo and Dan cut their cake. After the cake cutting, Jo and Bert had their dance and eventually Bert’s wife cut in, as did Dan and then I invited all of the guests to join them at the end of the dance. That left the dance floor pretty full for the start of open dancing. Once that started, I could tell it was going to be a good night. This crowd loved to dance! We only broke dancing for a minute to do the bouquet toss and then more dancing. The night ended with a big sparkler departure from the porch of the inn. Great wedding, and it was great working planner Catherine from Events By La Fete and Danielle Flake, the photographer.
