Christine Kuklica and Dustin Packer were married on Sunday, September 21st at the historic, beautiful and iconic Boone Hall Plantation in Charleston, SC.
Christine and Dustin were joined at the historic site by about 50 of their closest family and friends for their ceremony and reception. The couple was married in front of the Iron Gate with the brick mansion as the perfect backdrop for their Charleston wedding. The bride was escorted down the unpaved path by her father to “Just the Way You Are” by The Piano Guys. After the ceremony, the couple made their way up the path towards the mansion as husband and wife fittingly to “On Top of the World” by Imagine Dragons as Dustin’s fellow Navy service members prepared for the Arch of Swords Ceremony.
After the beautiful outdoor ceremony and pictures, I introduced the new Mr. and Mrs. Dustin Packer to the tune of “Best Day of My Life” by American Authors. After dinner and some heartfelt speeches by the MOH and BM, the couple danced their first dance as husband and wife to “A Thousand Years” by The Piano Guys. After their first dance, the bride danced with her father to “Here Comes the Sun” The Beatles, and the groom and his mother joined them on the dance floor after a minute or so. The bride and groom cut their beautiful cake with Dustin’s saber which was very impressive, but Christine definitely got the best of Dustin as Dustin was the one wiping icing out of his hair!
Opening up the beautifully blue-lit dance floor, I played everything, from a lot of the recent hits like “All About that Bass” as well as some classic oldies like, “I Want You Back” by Jackson 5 and “Shout” by Otis Day. I also played a couple of classic country songs by Garth Brooks and George Strait…seeing as the groom and most of his family were from Texas. The dance floor ended up moving from inside to outside on the Cotton Dock for the last hour which made for a great backdrop and amazing pictures. The guests sent the bride and groom off in style, under an arch of sparklers.
Wanda Cavazos of Richard Bell Photography took some amazing pictures of the ceremony and reception. You can see a couple of the teaser photos here and here. I cannot wait to see the final shots!
It was great to work with several other awesome vendors such as Cakes by Kasarda, Pink Flamingo Group (Lighting), Simply Elegant and Keepsakes Florist.
It was an amazing day and an amazing wedding. We had a lot of fun, and I am honored to have been a part of Christine and Dustin’s special day! We wish them all the best and a lifetime of happiness!
