Shannon and Mike’s ceremony and wedding reception both took place in the main ballroom at Prestonwood Country Club. The day began with a short but sweet ceremony in one half of the ballroom at the foot of the grand staircase. The officiant was Barbara Lodge, and as always, she did a great job. We provided music and microphones for this part of the day. One of the highlights for me was their recessional song, “Love Can Build a Bridge” by The Judds. That was a first time playing that one!
After the ceremony, guests went to the pre-function area outside the ballroom where we had music playing and cocktails were flowing. Next the room flip started. I had some of my main DJ rig set up, but not all of it. Once everyone got set with the tables and gear, the guests re-entered to a completely new looking room! Mike and Shannon were hidden at the top of the stairs for their intro. As I played, “Marry You” by Bruno, they made their way down and onto the dance floor for their first dance. I LOVED THEIR CHOICE! I feel like nobody ever picks this song, “Never Stop (The Wedding Version)” by Safetysuit. Trust me, listen to it now! After their dance, Shannon and her mother danced and then her mom gave a nice welcome to all of the guests. Dinner was then served.
After dinner, we had a few toasts from the maid of honor and best man before sending Mike and Shannon to the stairs landing to cut their lovely cake. Once they came back down, it was time to dance. It took a few songs to get folks going, but eventually they came out and had a good time dancing to some of my choices and lots of stuff picked by the couple. Around 10:30 we get everyone up and singing “Don’t Stop Believing” and then shut the party down and sent guests outside for a big sparkler sendoff. Great night! Great vendor team too. Kathy with Sally Oakley Events did a fantastic job keeping things on track. I can’t wait to see the photos from Richard Barlow too!

DJing is more than just showing up and pressing play. It’s also more than just knowing how to choose songs and mix them together. Begin a wedding DJ is about creating experiences and atmospheres. That’s what our DJing philosophy boils down to. We don’t want to just provide the perfect music. We want to create the perfect day. That’s why we excel in what we do. And this wedding was a perfect example of that. Working with this awesome couple to create the day they envisioned is something we’ll never forget. And it’s a service we provide all our Raleigh Weddings again and again.
