Rob & Mallory’s Carriage House Wedding
Rob and Mallory’s wedding ceremony and reception both took place at the Chapel Hill Carriage House. I was just there the prior weekend after never having been at all. Weird, but awesome, because this is a great venue. I actually knew Rob, the groom. He made the cool video that loops in the background of our website and shoots a lot of weddings that I DJ. Great guy! Mallory is amazing too! I was honored to do this one.
The Wedding Ceremony
The day started with a beautiful ceremony underneath the carriage house. Even though it was hot, the breeze blew through the entire time making it perfect. As the ceremony ended, folks made their way onto the lawn for games, cocktails, and a visit with an alpaca (yeah, that happened).
The Introductions & Dances
After cocktails, I got everyone inside for introductions. The bridal party came in to “Hey Ya” by Outkast, and then Rob and Mallory entered to “Forever” by Chris Brown. Everyone went nuts as they hit the dance floor for their first dance to the original version of “Unforgettable” by Nat King Cole. Mallory then danced with her dad to Louis Armstrong’s “What a Wonderful World” and Rob and his mom danced to “You’ll Be In My Heart” by Phil Collins. Great songs!
Mallory’s dad welcomed the guests and her mother gave a lovely blessing before the Rocky Top Catering buffet opened up. After dinner, we did three toasts, cut the cake (which also included cupcakes and ice cream), and then moved into dancing. It took a few songs to get people going, but once they did, it was a full on rager! I even played “Mask Off” by Future and Rob and his buddies went nuts! The only time they stopped dancing was for the bouquet toss (“Girls Run the World” by Beyonce) and garter toss (“Mission Impossible Theme” by U2). The night ended with a huge sparkler exit and lots more yelling. Loved every minute of it!
