Yes, you are reading the title of the blog correctly! This was a double wedding at Grand Marquise Ballroom! Two couples got married at the same time. A first for me, and it was a ton of awesome! The day began with guests arriving to the incredibly decorated ceremony space. Lyn Graves and the Fresh Affairs Team pulled double duty as the planner and the florist for this one. Another fantastic job I might add. About 250 people were in attendance so it was quite a sight to get to watch the whole ceremony and run the audio for the ceremony from up top (see photos). Gina’s aunt and uncle were the officiants for the double wedding. Her uncle performed it in English, and his wife then translated in Cantonese for the non-English speaking guests. So awesome! In fact, I gave her a wireless mic all night and she repeated every thing that I said. I had my own translator!

After the ceremony, the guests made their way into the foyer and Anfesa’s Jewelry to mingle and wait for us to “flip the room”. After about an hour, they came back in to an incredibly decorated room set for dinner and dancing! As the guests were seated, I lined up the bridal party upstairs for the introductions. They entered to “Suit and Tie” by Justin Timberlake and then both couples went right into their first dance “Thinking Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran. Mr and Mrs. Tong and Mr. and Mrs. Guo gave some amazing toasts to kick things off before dinner which was provided by the always great Rocky Top Hospitality.

As dinner wrapped up, we cut the amazing cake by Ashley Cakes (“Sugar” by Maroon 5″) and then it was finally time to dance! I wasn’t sure what was going to happen, but I must say, a lot of these folks came to party! I had them rocking and only took a quick pause for the bouquet toss (“Marry You” by Bruno Mars) and garter toss (“Sexyback” by JT). Soon after, we sent them on their way and I could hear the crowd screaming for them as they took off in their getaway car. What a night! Double weddings rock!

DJing is more than just showing up and pressing play. It’s also more than just knowing how to choose songs and mix them together. Begin a wedding DJ is about creating experiences and atmospheres. That’s what our DJing philosophy boils down to. We don’t want to just provide the perfect music. We want to create the perfect day. That’s why we excel in what we do. And this wedding was a perfect example of that. Working with this awesome couple to create the day they envisioned is something we’ll never forget. And it’s a service we provide all our Raleigh Weddings again and again.
