Rachel and Albert’s reception took place at the historic and awesome Stockroom in downtown Raleigh. The night started with guests arriving from All Saints Chapel (the ceremony site) and coming through the folks enjoying Bike Week! What a way to start the day! Around 7:00, I asked the guests to be seated and lined up the bridal party for intros. They all entered to “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” and then Rachel and Albert hit the dance floor for their first dance “Let’s Stay Together” by Al Green. Rachel and her dad danced next to “What a Wonderful World” and Albert and his mom danced to “Over the Rainbow” by Band of Oz. Rachel’s dad gave a brief welcome, the blessing took place and then the buffet was opened. As always, The Garden on Millbrook nailed it with the food.
After the dinner, we had a few more toasts and then Rachel and Albert cut their lovely cake and the dance floor opened! As soon as the lights dimmed, and the music started, guests hit the floor and were ready to party! The only time we stopped was to do the bouquet toss (“Hey Ladies”-Beastie Boys) and garter toss (“Oh Yeah”-Yell0). We rocked right up until 11:00 and ended the night with “Shout” and “You Are the Best Thing” by Ray Lamontagne before sending everyone down to Fayetteville Street for the big sparkler sendoff. A big thank you to Carly and the ladies of La Fete for keeping the event running smoothly and on time. Congrats to the new Mr. and Mrs. Manson!
