Last Saturday, Phillip and Jennifer had their wedding reception at one of my all-time favorite venues, The Pavilions at The Angus Barn here in my hometown of Raleigh, NC. Their ceremony was earlier in the day and they arrived around 5:00 with the guests to get more photos and enjoy the cocktail hour before introductions. The weather was amazing, a lot of pollen, but amazing!
I started the evening off with the formal introductions from the entrance to Calvin Harris’ “Feels So Close”. Everyone was standing on their feet when the newlyweds hit the floor for their first dance to “Laughing Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran (Love that song)! Next, Jennifer and her father danced to Pink’s version of “Over the Rainbow” (which is amazing) and finally Phillip and his mother danced to Paul Simon’s “Love me Like a Rock”. Great songs to start the night I’d say! Next up, Sister Charlotte gave a blessing before the always amazing food started coming out-salads, beef, green beans, chess pie-oh my! I got a chance to eat and almost overdid it LOL!
As dinner ended, there were three perfect toasts, the cake cutting, and then open dancing (my favorite time of the night). It took a couple of songs to get folks going, but once they did, it was ON! They partied all the way up to the end around 10:00 when we sent them off with sparklers! I can’t wait to see the video from 21 Films and the photos by Warren McCormack!
DJing is more than just showing up and pressing play. It’s also more than just knowing how to choose songs and mix them together. Begin a wedding DJ is about creating experiences and atmospheres. That’s what our DJing philosophy boils down to. We don’t want to just provide the perfect music. We want to create the perfect day. That’s why we excel in what we do. And this wedding was a perfect example of that. Working with this awesome couple to create the day they envisioned is something we’ll never forget. And it’s a service we provide all our Raleigh Weddings again and again.
