Maria and Jared had both their Wedding ceremony and reception at The Grand Marquise in Garner, NC a couple of weekends ago. The ceremony took place in the ballroom and the couple got married on the first landing of the elaborate staircase they have there. I provided the pre-recorded music and the mic for the officiant. It was a perfect ceremony and went flawlessly! As the couple and guests exited the room, Lyn Graves and his Fresh Affairs team immediately began to “flip” the room and I changed over my gear from ceremony rig to “boom boom”!
The Wedding Introductions
The guests were treated to hors d’oeuvres for about an hour while the magic took place in the ballroom behind closed doors. Once there were allowed back in, they could not believe that this was the same room that they were in for the ceremony! It looked incredible! Once everyone was in, I introduced the grandparents to “Stand by Me” by Ben E. King, the parents of the bride to Pitbull’s “Don’t Stop the Party”, and the parents of the groom to “Any Man of Mine” by Shania. Next up was the bridal party and they entered to “I Gotta Feeling” by Black Eyed Peas. Finally, Jared and Maria came down the stairs to “Pump It” by Black Eyed Peas and everyone went wild! They went right into their first dance “I Don’t Dance” by Lee Brice. What a great country ballad! The mother of the bride welcomed everyone, the officiant said the blessing, and the buffet opened to guests.
The Cake Cutting & Dancing
Later was the cake cutting, three toasts, an amazing slideshow featuring the newlyweds of course and then the parent dances. After that, it was party time! I worked through their playlist and also took some guest requests including a few beach music tunes. They only time we stopped dancing was for the mock exit (which I did get everyone to come back inside after) and for the bouquet and garter tosses. The crowd was rocking until the very end when we closed out with a huge sing-a-long to Garth’s “Friends in Low Places”! Great reception!
DJing is more than just showing up and pressing play. It’s also more than just knowing how to choose songs and mix them together. Begin a wedding DJ is about creating experiences and atmospheres. That’s what our DJing philosophy boils down to. We don’t want to just provide the perfect music. We want to create the perfect day. That’s why we excel in what we do. And this wedding was a perfect example of that. Working with this awesome couple to create the day they envisioned is something we’ll never forget. And it’s a service we provide all our Raleigh Weddings again and again.
