wedding dj pavilion at carriage farmSaturday was my first event at The Pavilion at Carriage Farm. All I can say is WOW! What a great new venue in Raleigh. It has the barn-type vibe, but so much nicer since it’s literally brand new! I loved playing there! So let’s talk about the wedding reception!

The guests arrived around 5 pm for cocktail hour. The ceremony had taken place a little earlier in the day. As usual, Rocky Top was doing their thing with the delicious food and drinks. After about an hour, the guests made their way inside and I lined up the bridal party for intros. Each pairing had its own song, which is tough as an MC, but I made it work and everyone was fired up when Danielle and Aaron hit the dance floor for their first dance to “Diamonds or Twine” by Ryan Hurd. I had never played this song before, but it’s a great one! After their first dance, I did something I rarely do down here in the South, I got everyone up and dancing BEFORE dinner. I know my Northern DJ buddies do it all the time, but it’s uncommon here at NC weddings. But it worked! Great start to the party! I wrapped that dance set with the anniversary dance to “Unforgettable” by Nat and Natalie Cole.

After that brief dance set, the father of the bride welcomed everyone and then Grandma Priscilla gave the blessing, and dinner was served. The food was amazing! Coming out of dinner, the best man and maid of honor gave toasts and the cake was cut (“Wrapped Up In You” by Garth Brooks). Danielle then made her way to the dance floor to dance with her dad to an amazing medley of songs we created including “The Twist” and “Apache” and “Shake It Off”. They had moves! It was so fun to watch from behind my DJ Booth. Aaron and his mother danced to “My Wish” by Rascal Flats, and then finally, everyone got up and partied again. A quick stop for the bouquet and garter, and then you guessed it, more dancing, until the sparkler exit finale around 10:30 pm. Awesome party and awesome vendor team! DJing is more than just showing up and pressing play. It’s also more than just knowing how to choose songs and mix them together. Begin a wedding DJ is about creating experiences and atmospheres. That’s what our DJing philosophy boils down to. We don’t want to just provide the perfect music. We want to create the perfect day. That’s why we excel in what we do. And this wedding was a perfect example of that. Working with this awesome couple to create the day they envisioned is something we’ll never forget. And it’s a service we provide all our Raleigh Weddings again and again.
