Brie and Mike’s reception took place at the brand new venue 214 Martin here in Raleigh on November 8th, 2014. This place was a vacant shell for years, but the owners have really stepped up and made a great space there!

Guests arrived after the ceremony and were treated to cocktails and hors d’oeuvres from Sisters Catering. I lined up the bridal party shortly after and brought them into Pharrell’s “Happy”. Brie and Mike then had their first dance to Sam Smith’s “Make it to Me” which was my first time playing this song. I love Sam Smith! Great choice. The food was blessed and the buffet opened. The food looked great! After dinner, toasts were given and the cake was cut. Mike and his mom actually did the first of the parent dances to “Wagon Wheel” by Old Crow Medicine Show. Everyone loved it and clapped along. Next up were Brie and her father. We made a custom edit for them of “I Loved Her First” that mixed into Paul Simon’s “You Can Call Me Al”. They did the whole routine from the video and everything! It was awesome!

Dancing opened after that and the floor stayed packed until the very end of the night when Brie and Mike sang Sam Smith’s “Stay with Me” on my mic to the crowd just before the sparkler sendoff! What a great reception!

DJing is more than just showing up and pressing play. It’s also more than just knowing how to choose songs and mix them together. Begin a wedding DJ is about creating experiences and atmospheres. That’s what our DJing philosophy boils down to. We don’t want to just provide the perfect music. We want to create the perfect day. That’s why we excel in what we do. And this wedding was a perfect example of that. Working with this awesome couple to create the day they envisioned is something we’ll never forget. And it’s a service we provide all our Raleigh Weddings again and again.
