I never met Jamie and Scott until their wedding day on September 10th. They had me provide music and mics for their ceremony and reception at The Merrimon Wynne House in downtown Raleigh. I play there all the time and was thrilled to be there for their big day!
The Wedding Ceremony
Their ceremony was held on the side lawn in picture perfect weather. As the 200 guests arrived I had a mix of classical pop songs playing. They had their friend Hannah Saab play guitar for the entrance of the Grandparents, Parents and wedding party. She did an amazing job!!!! Jamie and her Father entered to “Come Thou Fount” that I played a piano version of. She looked just beautiful with makeup and hair by Teighla Norris. Minister Sid was their officiant. During the ceremony they had communion for Jamie and Scott and Hannah played guitar and sang during it. After the ceremony, they recessed to “This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)” That I played. Minister Sid released the guests and invited them inside the house for the social hour.
After pics were taken by photographers Callie and Nancy Ray the doors to the ballroom opened and Kristin & Stephanie from Viva L’Event invited guests to the carriage house for dinner. The room looked beautiful with floral arrangements by Your Perfect Day. I introduced the wedding party to “Celebration” and Jamie and Scott to “September”. Get it?? They had their first dance to “Golden” by Lady Antebellum. Her Father welcomed everyone and Minister Sid blessed the meal. The Donovan’s Dish food stations opened in the lawn and I had a mix of Motown & classic soul playing.
After dinner we had the toasts and Details Cake Design cutting to “You’re My Best Friend”. Jamie’s Father joined her for their dance to “Little Miss Magic/Brown Eyed Girl” and Scott escorted his mother to the floor for their dance to “How Sweet It Is”. I opened the floor with some beach music, Motown and then top 40 after playing “Love Train” that had everyone in the room going around in a train. It was a great dancing crowd and they danced hard for 2 ½ hours!! We paused for bouquet toss to “Ladies Night” and then back to dancing until the end of the night. They had their last dance to “Die A Happy Man” before a sparkler exit from the front of the house.
What a fun night and I couldn’t be happier for Jamie and Scott!
DJing is more than just showing up and pressing play. It’s also more than just knowing how to choose songs and mix them together. Begin a wedding DJ is about creating experiences and atmospheres. That’s what our DJing philosophy boils down to. We don’t want to just provide the perfect music. We want to create the perfect day. That’s why we excel in what we do. And this wedding was a perfect example of that. Working with this awesome couple to create the day they envisioned is something we’ll never forget. And it’s a service we provide all our Raleigh Weddings again and again.
