Megan and Manly’s day began with their ceremony at The Stockroom at 230 in downtown Raleigh. I was in charge of the mic for the officiant and the music and it went perfectly. What a great way to start the day! Megan looked amazing, as did the hundreds of candles in the windows behind them. And of course, the sound was on point!
As soon as the ceremony ended, the guests went downstairs to the Mahler Gallery for cocktails while the vendors scrambled to “flip the room” for dinner and dancing. Tables came out, linens were laid, the dance floor was cleared and it was time for a party! The guests made their way back upstairs for the introduction to “You Make My Dreams” by Hall & Oates, and as soon as Megan and Manly hit the dance floor, they went right into their first dance “You Are the Best Thing” by Ray Lamontagne. The father of the bride welcomed everyone and then the buffets by Catering Works were opened up. I had a chance to sample the food, and it was great!
As dinner ended, it was time for toasts, the cake cutting and then the parent dances. Megan and her dad danced to “Georgia on My Mind” by Ray Charles and Manly and his mother danced to “What a Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong. Once those were done, I opened the dance floor and I will say, this crowd was not shy. They came to rock! This was one of those receptions where the bride and groom just let me do my thing, and it was awesome! The only pause in the dancing was for a quick bouquet toss and then it was right back to the partying with the night ending with the new Ed Sheeran song “Thinking Out Loud”. I’m obsessed with it. So good. We then sent the guests to Fayetteville Street for a big sparkler departure. What a night! Shout out to Stephanie and Kristin with Viva L’Event. They did another great job as always.
