Michelle & Locke’s reception took place this past Saturday at the amazing Rose Hill in Nash County, NC. It was a hot, but gorgeous day as the guests arrived to the original plantation house for cocktails. After about an hour, they headed over the the conference center that had been decked out by the Fresh Affairs team. Talk about gorgeous! The guest count got so large that they added a tent off the back porch complete with 2 bars and air conditioning. That thing was amazing!
After the guests were seated, the bridal party was introduced to James Brown’s “Cold Sweat”. As Michelle and Locke entered, all 260 guests went nuts. They went right into their first dance “Emmylou” by FirstAid Kit5. I had never heard this song, but loved it! Michelle’s father welcome everyone, the blessing was said and then the first course of dinner came flying out.
After dinner, we had some amazing toasts, the cake cutting to James Taylor’s “How Sweet It Is”, and then the parent dances. Michelle and her father danced to “Rainy Day Bells” by The Globetrotters. Locke and his mom danced to “Summertime” by Doc Watson. After that, it was party time!!! I finally got to play the dance stuff and from the first to the last song around 11:30, the floor was packed! As the night ended, the newlyweds left under a shower of sparklers. Perfect ending. Shout out to my fellow vendors: Angie Wright with Chic Details for planning the event, Neil Boyd for photography, and of course Heart Stone Films for the video magic. I can’t wait to see the video and photos!
