The weekend started with me taking a trip to Columbia, SC to DJ a rehearsal dinner. Saturday was a family day, and then Megan and David’s ceremony and reception both took place at the amazing Fearrington Village last Sunday. The day was perfect weather for an outdoor ceremony. After the ceremony, the guests made their way to the outside of the barn for cocktails. As the cocktail hour ended and everyone made their way to their seats, I did the intro of just the bride and groom to “Everlasting Love” by Natalie Cole. David and Meg then took to the dance floor for their first dance “Stay with You” By John Legend. Love that one!
David and Meg welcomed everyone and the father of the bride gave a brief toast. Afterwards, the food stations opened for everyone to enjoy. Coming out of dinner, we did the father/daughter dance to “My Little Girl” by Tim McGraw, and then David and his mom danced to “My Wish” by Rascal Flatts. As soon as that dance ended, we started the dance tunes with some oldies and got everyone up and out of their seats. We took a break for the cake cutting, bouquet and garter, and then were right back to the party music. I played requests, a few line dances, and a really wide mix of music to keep everyone out there and partying until the very end when David and Meg left under a shower of sparklers. What an amazing Sunday night reception! I am looking forward to seeing the photos from Nancy Ray!
