Kathryn and David were married on the gorgeous property just out back of The Rigmor House in Chapel Hill. As a native to NC and a DJ in eastern NC about my entire life, this was my first visit to this venue…and it is really neat. Perfect for a small to medium sized wedding.

The ceremony was perfect. Barbara Lodge, as usual, did a great job as the officiant. I provided the audio services and Arioso Strings had a violin player and acoustic guitarist doing the music. It couldn’t have turned out better! As the bridal party and family took photos, the guests made their way back up to the house for cocktails and food from Rocky Top Hospitality.

Once everyone made it inside the house all decked out with market lights by TPS, I did the introductions. This one was broken up into four songs: “I Feel Good” by James Brown for the parents, “The Rocky Theme” for The Ushers, “Party Rock Anthem” for the bridal party and finally “Crazy in Love” for David and Kathryn! What a way to make an entrance! They then went right into their first dance “Can’t Help Falling in Love” by The King. Uncle Ron blessed the food and then Rocky Top did their thing with a huge buffet meal. I had a chance to eat, and it was delicious! As dinner ended, three folks gave amazing toasts and then Kathryn and her dad danced to Ronan Keating’s “I Hope You Dance” and David and his mom danced to “Carolina In My Mind” by James Taylor.

I opened the dance floor with a classic slow one “At Last” per the bride’s request and then went right to the wedding party classics! The floor was packed! The only time we took a break was when I had everyone conga line out to the porch for a real treat, a Ben & Jerry’s ice cream wagon showed up and the newlyweds also did their cake cutting out there! I got everyone back inside for more tunes and the bouquet and garter and then a big ending with “Shout” and “Unchained Melody” before they departed. What an amazing night! Looking forward to seeing Riley MacLean’s photos. Shout out to Jen Ball with Knot Your Average Events for keeping this event running so smoothly. Congrats to the new Mr. and Mrs. Rabinowitz!
