Corey and Samantha’s reception Saturday took place at one of the neatest venues I’ve ever been to, and I got to play through one of the nicest sound systems ever built (BONUS)!!! The Haw River Ballroom in Saxapahaw, NC is a top-notch concert venue which just happens to convert perfectly into a place to have your wedding and ceremony, which is exactly what they did.
The day began upstairs in the venue with the ceremony. I provided the music and the microphones for this part of the day and it went off perfectly…even the time of the processional for the bride was spot on. I love it when a plan comes together! As soon as the ceremony ended, most people started heading down in the main area for cocktails. After the bridal party finished their photos, I lined them up for their intros down the stairs. The intro song was “Feels So Close” by Calvin Harris. What a great choice to get everyone pumped! As Samantha and Corey finally made their way down, the place erupted! They went right into their first dance song “You Are the Best Thing” by Ray Lamontagne and then Samantha danced with her dad to “Tiny Dancer” by Elton John. The father of the bride welcomed everyone and then it was food time!
As the dinner ended, the best man and man of honor gave great toasts, and then it was on to some open dancing! I got a chance to play a little bit of everything, including some guest requests. This was a party from start to finish. Samantha and Corey headed out around 1o:00pm, but I kept the party rocking for another hour after their departure! Now you know that’s a party! I can’t wait to see the photos from Annemie of Megapixie.
