My week was filled with Spring Break activities with my family, but when the weekend came, it was time for work! Friday night found me at one of the places I got my start, The Wilson Country Club in Wilson, NC. I did a dance for some cotillion middle schoolers. I will have to say, they were really well-behaved and actually had some great requests! But Saturday was wedding day!
Michael and Mallory’s reception took place at Prestonwood Country Club. Guests arrived around 5:30 for cocktails and I could tell it was going to be a party right from the start. The ballroom doors opened as I was finishing lining up the bridal party outside in Salon C. I got the guests seated and then fired up “Levels” by Avicii for the intro. Everyone had a dance coming in and then Michael and Mallory made their way down from upstairs to the sounds of “Baba O’Reilly” by The Who. The guests went bonkers! They hit the dance floor and went right into their first dance, “All of Me” by John Legend. And then, I got everyone up and on the dance floor to “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” mixed into “Memories” by David Guetta. They wanted dancing before dinner, and they got it! I got everyone back to their seats for salads and then the father of the bride welcomed everyone and one of the guests gave a perfect blessing.
Their schedule was a little different, but it worked thanks to Tia with Erin McLean Events. Shortly after salads, we did the toasts and a welcome from the bride and groom. The guests ate some more, and then we did the parent dances. Mallory danced with her dad to “I Loved Her First” and Michael danced with his mom to “I Will” by The Beatles. They then the cut the cake, and from then on, it was a three hour dance party! What an amazing response from this crowd. They raged! Congrats to Michael and Mallory!
