I always love going back to UNC, my alma mater, and playing at the historic Carolina Inn. Sarah and David were married there this past Saturday on a beautiful Fall day. The guests left the outdoor ceremony and enjoyed more time outdoors on the hotel’s front porch sipping cocktails. Meanwhile, I was setting up and getting ready in the stunning Hill Ballroom. This room is pretty, but after Lyn and his team at Fresh Affairs worked their magic, WOW!
The guests arrived and found their seats and then it was time for the intro to “I Gotta Feeling” by The Black Eyed Peas. Sarah and David came right in to thunderous applause and shouts and went right into their first dance, a well choreographed “Unforgettable”. It was great! Next, Sarah and her dad danced to “Your Song” by Elton John and David and his mom danced to “I’ll Stand by You” by The Pretenders. Mr. Perry, the father of the bride, gave a quick welcome and the three course dinner service began! I actually got a chance to eat, and the food was outstanding!
As dinner wrapped, we had a special treat for the guests. Sarah’s sister actually sang “At Last” by Etta James. That song is tough, but she nailed it! Immediately following we knocked out the cake cutting (a gorgeous one from Sweet Memories) and toasts and then it was my turn! There was tons of dancing at this reception, at least 2 hours with only a short pause for the bouquet. It was a blast! Angie and her Chic Details team did a great job keeping it on schedule and I can’t wait to see Dara Blakeley’s photos! Congrats Sarah & David!
