Anna and David chose the beautiful Berry Hill Resort for their ceremony and reception.  The ceremony was on the front lawn of the mansion that welcomed their first guest in 1728. They had a string quartet playing popular rock covers to welcome guests to the ceremony.  Rhonda from Berry Hill was there all night making sure everything was perfect and photographer Meg Runion was snapping pics of everything.  After the ceremony, guests came inside the historic home for the cocktail hour on the main flood with live string musicians still playing.

The dinner was held on the bottom floor outside of the ballroom and inside a white tent. I had a mix of standards playing after Anna’s Father Gaines welcomed everyone.  As dinner concluded, Gaines started the toasts and Anna & David thanked everyone for coming and invited them inside the ballroom for the dancing portion of the evening.  Anna and David opened the floor for their first dance of “A Song For You” by Willie Nelson.  I have to admit I had never heard it before, but it is now one of my fav Willie songs.  Anna danced with her Father to “My Girl” and David escorted his Mother to the floor for their dance to “Love’s Me Like A Rock” as everyone clapped along.  The dance floor opened for everyone with “Build Me Up Buttercup” and the floor packed with the 150 + guests.  Rhonda said she had never seen the floor that full that early in the reception.  After dancing a little some of the guests started hitting the Ever After photo booth.

After a short Motown and oldies set we stopped for the La Bella Torta made cake cutting to “Hold You In My Arms” by Ray LaMontagne and then back to dancing moving more into current dance music for Anna and her bridesmaids.  I even saw David cutting a rug with a huge grin on his face!  By the end of the night it had turned into a rave with guests dancing to Kid Cudi and Benny Benassi and some indie rock with the likes of The Killers and Walk The Moon’s “Anna Sun”.

I ended the evening with “Wonderful Tonight” and guests made their way back to the front lawn for the sky lanterns exit.  What a charming wedding reception and I had a blast playing for this crowd!
