Meet Joe Bunn
It’s so hard to write about yourself, but here goes! I have been in the DJ business since 1986, and I can still rock with the best of ’em. I spent many years as just “DJ Joe Bunn” throughout middle school, high school, and college. After I graduated from college, I had several dead end jobs, but was always DJing in some form. One day, I had an epiphany. Why not turn this part-time job into my livelihood? I started looking for Raleigh’s best wedding DJs and other rising talent…and I found them.
The DJs on my staff here in Raleigh, NC have helped build the company to one of the best in the U.S. We didn’t just want to stay wedding DJs in Raleigh. And the team here has helped us expand across North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Montana, and California. Besides DJing, I love being with my wife, Ainsley, and sons, Colin & Davis. When there is time, I love to be outside, fish when I can, and watch Netflix at night. I also spend about 4 days a week working out and trying to stay healthy.

Meet Randy Bennett
After 38 years in the DJ business, you could say that music knowledge is Randy’s strength, not joke telling! He also ran an independent Record Store for 20 years and DJ’d the Friday Night mix show on G105 for a year in 1995 as well as in 2005 & 2006 every Friday night. He has been a Raleigh wedding DJ for 20 years and loves making the night everything that the couple hoped for.

Steve has been with us for so long now that I forget when he started, but he is one of our most requested DJs! Do you want a hard-working DJ? Look no further! He does MANY charity, non-profit, and promotional gigs each year for Bunn DJ Company. He is a true team player.

MEET FRANK MELDAU
Meet Frank Meldau
Frank has been DJing ever since he was in 7th grade. Frank was the one with the jam box on field trips taking requests and rockin’ the bus. Randy Bennett knew Frank way back in the day during the times when there used to be record stores on every corner. Both of them ran independent stores in the Raleigh area. Frank was born in Raleigh and grew up in Durham. Later, he played drums in a high school rock band. For college, he decided to go to NC State where he would DJ at clubs and fraternity parties. Asked why he wanted to be a wedding DJ, he writes, “I always loved music and wanted to get everybody dancing. I was the DJ because I always had the music.”
Frank decided to join the Joe Bunn team and has racked up an impressive resume of Raleigh weddings and parties. He has several hobbies include restoring boats, sailing, movies, and daily dance parties with his four young children. Frank comments, “I look forward to making your event memorable. I like having the hard-to-find music that you want to hear”.

MEET MITCH WOODARD
Meet Mitch Woodard
Mitch has been DJing for over 12 years now, and has had the opportunity to work at all types of events – making sure that each unique event receives the personal attention it deserves.
Joe met Mitch one night while DJing. He talked about his DJ background and the standards of his service. Joe knew right away that he needed him on the team. Mitch always has a smile on his face when he comes to the office and spends his free time chasing his kids around, trying to hit the gym, and watching sports.
Mitch says, “I enjoy music and a good party! I work hard to continue the level of professionalism Bunn DJ Company has created in the area and look forward to working with couples to give them exceptional service on their wedding day.”

MEET MARK MCNALLY
Mark McNally was born and bred in Belfast, Ireland where he lived until the age of 27. He moved to the states in 2007 and now resides here in North Carolina with his wife Charlene and three young children, Alex, Kristin & Conor. Yes, he still has the Irish accent, No, he doesn’t know Bono.
Mark has been spinning records since he was a teenager and really knows how to control a dance floor and keep the party going. His personality is felt at every event and everyone is always responding to how much they loved hearing his Irish Brogue. Mark states, “I really love what I do. For me DJ’ing is not a job, it’s a passion. It’s great to be a part of the best in the business with Joe Bunn and the entire DJ team. I look forward to making your event a memorable one. MEET MARK TONEY
Joe met Mark at a local restaurant where he used to DJ on Thursdays. Mark just kept showing up week after week and wanting to do a “set”. After seeing his skills, Joe hired him on the spot. He is a great asset to any type of party.
Mark Toney started DJ’ing in New Jersey and New York in 1990. After burning out on the “city life”, he moved down south to North Carolina to start fresh. His love of music carried through and he is now working weddings, clubs, private parties, and other events. His spare time is devoted to music, basketball, and watching sports. Mark writes, “I’m proud to be part of the Bunn DJ Company roster. My years of experience will make your event shine.”

MEET KENT BLOMS
Meet Kent Bloms
There’s a funny story behind how Kent was added to the staff. Kent Bloms moved to North Carolina from North Dakota in 2004 leaving behind a DJ and nightclub business. When he got married a year later and needed a wedding DJ, guess who he called? That’s right, Joe Bunn. One thing lead to another and a few months after their wedding, Kent realized the “DJ bug” had bitten again and he wanted to get back into the business. The rest, as they say, is history. Wow, that is cliche.
Kent has been DJ’ing for clubs, parties, and weddings since 1998. Along with DJ’ing he runs Classic Carolina Photobooths, Inc., is a high school business teacher, and also coaches JV basketball. In his 10 minutes per day of free time he enjoys spending time with his 2 boys and playing basketball and baseball.

MEET JEFF ELLIS
Jeff is a 70’s baby who was born and raised in Harlem, NYC. Jeff was exposed to DJ’ing firsthand from his roommate at UNC-CH in the late ’80s. Since that experience, he has provided music for clients, family, and friends for various events over a number of years.
Since launching as an official DJ, he has expanded his repertoire to include music from the old school radio stations in NYC, Dancehall and Soca due to his family lineage, the 80’s / 90’s club and house scene of New Jersey and Chicago, and old school Hip Hop. With all of these genres mixed all into one show, he has entertained crowds ranging from eighth-grade semi-formals to corporate holiday events, to 50-year milestone celebrations. “I remember DJ Joe Bunn from my UNC days and am excited to be a part of the Bunn DJ Company team”.

MEET SCOTT SEFTNER
In college I decided I wanted to go from the guy who always brought the best CDs to the party to be the one controlling the party. After college, I was recruited to a local CT/NY DJ company and was exposed to so much more than the college DJ scene. After spending multiple years doing weddings and other private events, I was noticed by a major nightclub owner at a wedding and was asked to spin at his place which led to several other opportunities and sponsorships from Bud Light and Monster Energy. For years to come, I would balance my life between weddings and nightclubs and other events. About five years ago I relocated to the Raleigh area and made sure I found the best event and wedding DJ company to share my love for entertaining. Scott states, “I knew once I sat down and talked with Joe about Bunn DJ Company that I had found the right fit here in North Carolina. I can’t wait to rock many more events with this company!”

“We had DJ Scotty Styles for our wedding weekend, we hired him for our beach welcome party (this was a destination wedding) and for our ceremony (outdoors) and our reception (at the Dunes Golf and Beach Club). Scotty made the entire experience stress free, all I did was mention what I wanted/needed (microphone, outdoor ceremony music, etc.) I did not need to follow up or ask twice, he was early, set up, and did everything I asked. MEET KALONJI OLIVER
Meet Kalonji Oliver
I grew up loving music mostly soul, funk, and adult R&B. I was a drummer and drum major in high school, then a DJ roadie and assistant throughout college. Becoming a DJ was just another creative expression for me. “When I saw that Bunn DJ Company was hiring, I met with Joe and realized this was a company that I wanted to work for! I am excited to see minds, bodies, and souls moving to the music.”

Richard has been working in the music industry as a DJ for over 20 years. He has extensive experience in providing services for a variety of events including graduations, block parties, corporate events, and weddings.
In his work, he strives to ensure that everyone is enjoying themselves and the music. His motto is “Anyone can play music, I make you dance”. He specializes in a wide range of music including Top 40 and also Spanish music. He is bilingual and fully fluent in Spanish.

MEET DARION ELDER
I’ve been described as a bit of a music junkie by those closest to me. There’s just something about music that has always spoken to me more so than my peers. When I was younger, there was an absolute zero chance of you catching me without my headphones. Throughout the years I began to find multiple outlets to express this passion. One of those outlets was songwriting. I began songwriting as an early teen and it would eventually introduce me to a world that I am still very much a part of – production and studio engineering. As an adult I found myself craving more though; I could never have enough music. When a buddy of mine, Bunn DJ Steven Mayes, approached me with the idea of DJing, I jumped on board without question. I had finally found something that gave me the satisfaction I was looking for! I realized that the only thing better than creating or listening to music was the chance to share it with others. Reading the crowd, playing the perfect song at the perfect time and making sure everyone is having an absolute blast is what I do best. This is my passion!

MEET CHRIS KINGSLEY
Meet Chris Kingsley
I’ve always been into music from playing the Drums to making the classic mixtape for my friends and myself in High School. I moved to Raleigh in 1997 and I enjoyed hitting the scene with my buddies and we used to go to places where Joe or Randy Bennett seemed to be DJing. Although I loved to dance, I was always interested in what was coming NEXT on the 1’s & 2’s! Fast forward to 2003, I am attending my friend’s wedding and during the reception, they ask me, “Kings, go pick some jams and get this party going.” I walked over to the DJ and asked if I could pick some songs (a big NO-NO with any of the Bunn DJ’s…LOL). I preceded to pull a stack of CDs (old school) and then simply asked the DJ, “How do you run your gear?” He showed me and I took over for the rest of the night (he took a long smoke break)…true story!
From there on, I was hooked. I loved the crowd reaction and the control that I had over the evening, it was a total high. The next week I went and bought all the gear I needed and started honing my craft. In 2004 I met up with Joe and worked with him until 2007. I took a few years off and did a few referral gigs but I am coming back to where I cut my teeth! I’m excited to be rejoining the Bunn DJ Company family! Let’s Rock your Event.

Meet Cody Daniel
Growing up with a family-owned DJ company, Cody was literally born into the business. Having access to a library of the classic hits from the time he was able to listen, and attending gigs/events from middle school dances to marriages, he has a boatload of experience with entertaining people musically for over 12 years!
He is also an aspiring songwriter who is constantly collaborating with some of the best producers in North Carolina and is really in-depth with the modern pop culture as well. If a well-rounded variety of music that’ll make people wanna dance and fall in love is what you’re looking for, look no further!

Meet Nolan Jones
Now 8 years in, DJ Neph started to make a buzz for himself throughout various clubs in Eastern NC. He has since expanded his brand and DJ’d festivals, private parties, concerts, and weddings all over North Carolina and the east coast. Neph prides himself on being multi-dimensional and being able to play for various crowds and events.

MEET RUSSELL HARPER
Meet Russell Harper
As a 3rd generation drummer, Russell was born with a lust for music and celebrations. He has worked in the music and entertainment industry for over 26 years. At age 16 Russell’s first job was DJ’ing at a skating rink. He was the original drummer and co-founder of Yo Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band and played professionally full time with them on the road for three years after college. The band is still touring nationally after over 20 years. Russell was a founding member of Blue Sky Crying, as well as the disco-funk neo-soul trio Howie DeWitt which is also still in action. Russell has run professional sound productions for bars, clubs and festivals, private parties, weddings, and corporate events. His Club DJ name is Hypnotist the “Party Propagator”. Russell firmly believes that DJing is the best job in the world, and feels his biggest strength is being a good listener who hears what his clients’ vision for their event is and strives to make every party as unique as the people attending.

MEET DOUGLAS CURRY
Meet Douglas Curry
Douglas’s love for music runs deep. As a middle schooler, he began learning the craft of DJing from a local DJ in his New Jersey hometown. He made mixtapes for family and friends, and he was always asked to provide music for family functions— mainly disco, funk, house, and 80/90s hip hop.
With a vast music collection and the drive to continue to hone his skills, Douglas has been a requested DJ for weddings, private events, and touring with a local hip-hop artist.
