A Carolina Inn wedding for Meagan & Evan

I knew from the minute I met Meagan & Evan that their wedding was going to be a blast. They were super detailed in the planning of their event and knew exactly what they wanted. Picking the beautiful Carolina Inn was just the first of many good choices they made!

I love being involved in a wedding from the ceremony through the reception because I get to see it all come together. Meagan looked amazing with her makeup done by Radiant Beauty and hair by Lillian Self. The photos from Bronwyn Duffield Photography are sure to be great.

The ceremony was done in the Bryan Courtyard, with cocktail hour taking place in the Old Well Wing. Tre Bella’s flower spread was amazing to see! I introduced Mr. & Mrs. Saltzberg to “Hey Look Ma- I Made It” by Panic at the Disco. Great entry song! The Bride and Groom had their first dance to “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran, and it was pretty perfect. We listened to a sweet welcome from the Parents of the Bride before the food was blessed and dinner commenced. I played a mix of light music while everyone enjoyed their delicious food. The gorgeous cake from Ashley Cakes was cut to “Cake f. 99 Percent” by Flo Rida. The cake was vanilla with lemon curd and buttercream icing- definitely a crowd favorite!

After great food, and even better cake, the Father and Daughter dance started to “My Girl” by the Temptations. The Groom then danced with his mother to “Good Riddance- Time of your Life” by Green Day. The song selections were the cherry on top of a perfect reception! After the solo dances were done, we opened the dance floor up to some amazing music from throughout the 2000s. With almost two hours of everyone tearing up the dance floor, we ended the night to “Last Dance” by Donna Summer. The Bride & Groom exited to a beautiful sparkler exit that I’m sure 21 Films captured perfectly.

Congratulations Meagan & Evan!

A Wakefield Barn Wedding for Julia and Cody

The middle of the summer heat still doesn’t stop me from being excited when I get to witness a wedding like Julia and Cody’s at the Historic Wakefield Barn. I had the pleasure of providing the happy couple with music throughout their entire day, so I got to witness the beautiful details from start to finish.

Wakefield barn wedding dj Bunn DJ companyThe cute couple got married in front of 150 of their close friends and family. The ceremony lasted about 20 minutes and then quickly led into cocktail hour at the Stables while photogra
pher AJ Dunlap made sure to get these beautiful photos. Wink Hair & Makeup made these already beautiful ladies look so amazing! I started off cocktail hour with some 80s classics ranging from Earth, Wind, and Fire to Fleetwood Mac. I introduced Julia and Cody and led them into their first dance to “Speechless” by Dan + Shay. Julia’s father joined her on the floor to dance to “Forever Young” while Cody’s mom danced with him to “Like Jesus Does”.

After the dances, Don Osborn blessed the meal and a buffet dinner began. After dinner, there were some sweet toasts from multiple people in the bridal party. We went straight from toasts to cutting the beautiful cake from Cinda Cakes to “Sugar Sugar” by the Archies. Haven’t had that one in a while, classic! The rest of the night went off without a hitch as I played a mix of current pop favorites and classics from the 90s.

We ended the night with “Time of My Life” and an epic sparkler exit. Thanks so much for including me on your special day. Congratulations Julia and Cody!

A Sutherland Wedding For Brianna and David

When I first met Brianna and her Parents, I knew this was going to be a day full of love and celebration at The Sutherland in Wake Forest, NC on July 6th!

the Sutherland wedding dj Bunn DJ companyBrianna and David’s wedding ceremony was held at Crossroads Fellowship and officiated by her Father.  That is so special!!  After the ceremony, the 200 guests made their way to The Sutherland where I was set up for the reception.

As the guests arrived for the social hour in the walled Brides garden, I had a playlist of country and soft rock playing that they had given me.  The guests enjoyed refreshments and visiting while photographers Whimsicalous Photography and videographers Black Dog Films stayed at the church with the wedding party to get some shots.  They also had a live painter that was starting a portrait of Brianna and David.

After pics were done and the wedding party arrived, the guests were invited into the pavilion where I was for dinner and dancing (and to get out of the heat). I left music playing and went to line the wedding party up with help from planners Christy and Lena from The Sutherland. I introduced them to “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” and they all came in to loud applause. They had their first dance to an edit their friend made of “Flesh Of My Flesh” by John Lucas. The Parents dances were next with Brianna and her Father first. Their dance started with “Butterfly Kisses” then into a minute of ”Brown Eyed Girl”.  It was such a sweet dance and you could tell that they had been waiting for this moment!!  David and his Mother caught everyone off guard with their choreographed swing dance to “It Is Well With My Soul”. These may be my favorite set of Parents dances yet!! Her Father welcomed everyone and blessed the meal.  The salads were already served and the Cook Shack buffet opened shortly. During dinner I played more country and soft rock.

After dinner Brianna and David snuck away with the photographers to get some more pics and I opened the floor for 20 min or so with some 70’s that filled it with almost everyone in the room by the end of the first song.  When pics were done, I cleared the floor and we had a shoe game.  The cake cutting followed and guests were invited to the dessert stations for personal Nothing Bundt Cakes and a Howling Cow Ice cream sunday bar. Brianna and her family used to stop by there after the NC State Fair!

I opened the floor back up with some Beach music and line dances along with some top 40 and Hip-Hop that kept the floor packed for the next 2 hours. We paused for the bouquet toss to “Singles Ladies” before ending the night with ”Don’t Stop Believin’” and “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran.  They had a sparkler exit from the parking lot.

Thank you so much Brianna, David, Mr & Mrs Teague, Christy and Lena!!  I loved every minute of this wedding!!

An Umstead Wedding for Katie & JB

The Umstead is always a beautiful place to see a wedding reception happen. Each time it’s completely customized to where you almost can’t tell it’s the same place!

Umstead wedding dj Bunn DJ companyWhile I set up for Kate & JB’s reception, I got to hear Arioso Strings play throughout the cocktail hour. You should honestly check them out, it was amazing! It’s going to be a great wedding reception when you get to introduce the wedding party to “Uptown Funk” by Bruno Mars. The atmosphere in the room as the party entered was phenomenal! When it was time to introduce the Bride & Groom I played “You’re the One that I want” by Olivia Newton- John & John Travolta. Classic. The first dance for the happy couple was to “Love Someone” by Lukas Graham. Sweet song for a sweet moment. Directly after, the Father & Bride dance commenced to “Walk with You” by Edwin McCain while the Mother & Son danced to “You’ll be in My Heart” by Phil Collins. Tissues anyone?

Before dinner was served the Bride requested 3 specific songs: “I gotta Feeling”, “Play that Funky Music”, and “Forever”. The light and happy tone the songs gave everyone made it all the way through dinner. Open dance pursued with a range of music throughout the night. I’m sure Sky Visions caught a lot of the awesome dance moves on the floor! When it was time to cut the delicious cake from Sweets by Shayda, I played “Sugar” by Maroon 5.

The night ended with a confetti exit as the bride & groom left the building. Congrats to Mr. and Mrs. JB Collins!

A Carolina Inn Wedding for Hillary and Anton

Hillary and Anton had a beautiful wedding at Carolina Inn all set up by C & D Events (Caroline is awesome!). Fresh Affairs did a fantastic job with the floral arrangements throughout the venue, which was only made better by the classic feel of the Inn. The Mint Julep Jazz Band played throughout the ceremony and they were pretty phenomenal! The bride looked amazing with her hair and makeup done by Krystal Lehman from Wink Hair & Makeup.

Once the band was done, I had a great time providing the music for Hillary and Anton’s reception. I started the night with “So Close” by Georgia Ku and ended with “All I Do is Win” by T-Pain, Ludacris, Snoop Dogg, and Rick Ross.  The playlist that they selected was pretty killer! I might just keep it for future events!

Congrats, Hillary and Anton! Thanks for including me on your day!

A Duke Garden wedding for Jenny and Eric

Man, even with the first heatwave of the summer, Jenny and Eric’s wedding at Duke Gardens was perfect from start to finish. The bride and bridesmaids looked beautiful thanks to Posh Salon, even with that heat! Bombadil was the ceremony band, they are truly amazing! I was blown away at the love in the air as Eric’s older brother served as Jenny and Eric’s officiant.

jenny and ericCocktail hour was held on the lawn, with delicious hors d’oeuvres and drinks served for all. Dinner commenced under the tent, with Soigne Events catering. Man the food was so good! I introduced the beautiful couple as they started their first dance to “The Luckiest” by Ben Folds. The smiles amongst the family and friends were pretty great to witness. The bride and her father danced to “What a Wonderful World” by Louis Armstong while the mother and her son danced to “How Deep is the Ocean” by Barbra Streisand & Jason Gould.

Afterwards, the buffet opened up and I played light music while everyone ate and socialized. Toasts were done by parents and friends and then the cake cutting was done followed by a second ‘first dance’ to “Despacito” for the bride and groom. With Eric being a 4-time Grammy winning jazz producer, I made sure to make the wedding music award winning for them. The party went on until close to midnight with a range of music keeping everyone on the dance floor.

I had such a good time being a part of their wedding. Congrats Jenny & Eric!

A Merrion Wynne Wedding for Jenna and Tyler

Jenna & Tyler’s wedding is not one I will easily forget. From the beautiful Merrimon Wynne House to the gorgeous floral arrangements from Meristem Floral. The wedding was perfectly planned by C and D Events, with Catherine leading it all. She did such an amazing job!

I had the pleasure of being the DJ for the ceremony and their reception so I got to see it all. The bride and the bridesmaids looked beautiful, with their hair and makeup done by Makeup by Ashley Mooney. The ceremony went off without a hitch and then the cocktail hour began. I played a mixture of music up until the introductions. “I Gotta Feeling” played in the background as I introduced the bridal party before announcing Mr. and Mrs. Cardillo. The happy couple took their first dance to “Alone with Me” by Vance Joy. They really sold it by singing every word to each other. I either cried or it was allergy season in the venue!

After I wiped my eyes, everyone was seated and served dinner by Beau Catering. To say the food was delicious would be an understatement. “That’s Amore” played in the background while the cake was cut, which was provided by the great Ashley Cakes. We enjoyed some toasts by the maid of honor and the best man before the special dances started. The bride and father danced to “My Little Girl” by Tim McGraw. That was followed by the son & mother dance to “My Wish” by Rascal Flatts. Open dance time commenced with 3 hours of pop, 90’s throwbacks, and some of the best all-time sing-along songs. The night ended with a beautiful sparkler exit

Thanks for having me Jenna and Tyler!

A Rose Hill Wedding for Allison and Brandon

I had the pleasure of joining Allison and Brandon for their wedding at Rose Hill Plantation in Raleigh.

The ceremony went great and led to an amazing reception. First up were introductions leading into the grand entrance of the bride and groom. “You Make My Dreams Come True” by Daryl Hall & John Oates played as the couple came in beaming. After that, the welcoming from the father of the bride and the happy couple led us to the blessing before dinner.

Following dinner, the Allison & Brandon shared their first dance to “I Get to Love You” by Ruelle. Next, the father-daughter dance was done to “Butterfly Kisses” by Bob Carlisle, one of my favorites! The mother-son dance was done to “My Wish” by Rascal Flatts, which was just as sweet. After those dances, we opened up the dance floor for everyone. The music list was filled with songs including “Uptown Funk”, “Hey Ya!”, and “Drop it Like it’s Hot”. In other words, tunes to keep the dance floor moving!

Next up was the toasts and cake cutting. Capital Cakes provided the delicious cake served, check them out if you’re looking for your cake provider! After the cake cutting was more dancing, followed by the bouquet toss. The toss was done to “Man I Feel Like a Woman” by Shania Twain. In addition, the garter toss was done to “Real Good Man” by Tim McGraw. We ended the night with “Bye Bye Bye” and an epic sparkler exit. The night was videoed by Jared Cook Films, and I can’t’ wait to see it!

To sum it all up, thanks for including me on your epic night Allison and Brandon!

Another Amazing Wedding at the Barn of Chapel Hill for Megan and Dru

Megan and Dru had their beautiful wedding at the Barn of Chapel Hill. I certainly suggest checking it out if you’re looking for an upcoming wedding.

I provided the music for their reception which started with the bride and grooms introduction to “Rose of Sharon” by Mumford & Sons. Next was a warm welcome from the father of the bride, and then the blessing so that everyone could dig into the delicious food catered by Beau Catering. Following dinner, we listened to the thoughtful toasts from close friends and family and a sweet message from Megan and Dru themselves! After the toasts, the cake cutting commenced with “All You Need is Love” by the Beatles playing in the background. Simply Cakes did a great job making sure the cake was good for everyone!

The first dance for the bride and groom was done to “Sons and Daughters” by Allman Brown & Liz Lawrence. After that, the sweet father-daughter dance was done to “My Girl” – The Temptations while the mother-son dance was done to “Most People Are Good” by Luke Bryan. You could feel the love on the dance floor for sure! The rest of the night was open dancing for everyone with only a small interruption for the bouquet toss. We ended the night with “Came Here for Love” – Sigala and a wonderful wand exit. I can’t wait to see the photos from Krystal Kast and the video from Cinema Film. Another seamless event by Kast Events & Company with beautiful flowers throughout from The Barn of Chapel Hill. To sum it up, this is one I definitely won’t forget!

A Fearrrington Garden Terrace Wedding for Fah and Michael

Fah and Michael had their wedding at the Fearrington Garden Terrace which is very close to Chapel Hill. The Garden Terrace is absolutely breathtaking.

The day started around 1:30 pm with the bride and groom introductions to Nat Cole’s classic “Everlasting Love“. When Fah and Michael entered, they went right into their first dance “Thinking out Loud” by Ed Sheeran. Next, the blessing was said and the buffet opened for the guests.

After dinner, the cake was cut to “Sugar” by Maroon 5 and then the Father-Daughter & Mother-Son dances commenced. Both dances were done at the same time to “You’ll Be In My Heart” by Phil Collins. Not a dry eye in the place! Following the sweet dances, it was just open dance party time. We ended the night with a great bouquet toss and the sweet sound of “Your Song” by Elton John. The amazing night was captured by the wonderful Heba Salama, and I can’t wait to see the photos!
