About The Duke Mansion

The Duke Mansion is a historic and elegant venue that is perfect for weddings, offering a blend of Southern charm and sophistication.

The mansion offers several event spaces, both indoors and outdoors, including the grand gardens, the sun porch, and various elegant indoor rooms. These spaces can accommodate different wedding sizes, from intimate ceremonies to larger receptions. It can host up to 150 guests for a seated dinner or up to 300 for a cocktail-style reception. Smaller spaces are available for more intimate gatherings.

The Duke Mansion is also a bed-and-breakfast with 20 luxury guest rooms, offering a charming place for the wedding couple, and close family or guests to stay. Many wedding packages include exclusive use of the mansion, meaning only your event will be happening that day, ensuring privacy and a personalized experience.

Duke Mansion Wedding DJ & Entertainment Guide

While amplified music isn’t allowed outdoors at Duke Mansion, we can still provide microphones for your officiant, readers, and any speakers to ensure your guests hear every word. Most couples opt for live musicians, such as a string trio, to provide elegant ceremony music that complements the mansion’s timeless setting. Our team will seamlessly coordinate with your musicians and officiant to ensure flawless sound for your special moment.

The Levine Living Room is the heart of the reception at Duke Mansion, and it’s where the dance floor comes alive. We set up the DJ on one end of the room between the antique armoire bookcase and the dance floor, creating a beautiful focal point while ensuring the best sound coverage. This setup maximizes space for dancing and keeps the energy flowing all night long.

Since dinner often takes place in the courtyard, we recommend scheduling first dances, parent dances, and toasts in the Living Room—either before or after dinner—so that every special moment is enjoyed with clear, amplified audio.

Duke Mansion is known for its classic and sophisticated ambiance, and lighting plays a key role in enhancing the mood. We recommend:

  • Warm candlelight uplighting during cocktail hour, dinner, and formalities to complement the mansion’s timeless elegance.
  • Once the dance floor opens up, our dance floor lighting moves to the beat of the music, creating an energetic party atmosphere. At the same time, the uplights can be set to more fun colors—such as violet, teal, or a custom color to match your wedding theme and keep the celebration going.

If you’re looking for a fun way to entertain guests and capture memories, a photo booth fits perfectly near the Living Room entrance. This allows guests to snap photos without missing a beat on the dance floor.
