Please note that the following events will create an influx of people to LaJolla. If planning your wedding or event at the same time, book hotel rooms and excursions as early as possible as space will be limited!

• The arts are big in LaJolla. Held in October, the LaJolla Art & Wine Festival is a 2-day event offering prestigious art, international wines and craft beers, and live entertainment. Profits from the festival benefit LaJolla public schools. Since the festival’s inception, more than $1,000,000 has been raised to benefit the education of more than 4,000 children.
• Founded by actor Gregory Peck, the LaJolla Playhouse brings what’s called “New and Next in American Theatre.” Musicals, comedies, and world premiers have graced the stage boards. And the WOW (Without Walls) Festival is a 4-day event that brings together spectacle, dance, theater, opera, and circus performance. Customize your own event itinerary.
• Throughout the month of August, you’ll find concerts with the LaJolla Music Society Summerfest at the Conrad Prebys Performing Arts Center.
• Mixing art and alcohol, you have the San Diego Spirits Festival in September. Taking place at the Museum of Contemporary Art, this 2-day event is cocktails and art with a view. It’s all about the cocktail culture, so dress to impress!
• Auto enthusiasts around the world know the LaJolla Concours d-Elegance Car Show is not your parking lot car show! Held in April, you’ll see everything from classic Woody surfer wagons to celebrity sports cars. All proceeds benefit the LaJolla Historical Society.
• PGA Golf comes to LaJolla in February at the renowned Torrey Pines with the Farmer’s Insurance Open. Golf enthusiasts can treat themselves to a VIP viewing experience.
• LaJolla Cove is a popular marine reserve and the site of one of the world’s most famous open-water swim races for nearly 100 years. The race was reintroduced in 2019 with the LaJolla Cove Swim. Hosted by La Jolla Parks and Beaches, proceeds to benefit the swimming community,  a local park, and youth programs.
• It’s Grunion Season! The slippery little fish, unique to Southern California beaches, can be found spawning from April to June in Southern California. All you need is a flashlight and a beach chair for the annual grunion run. The Birch Aquarium offers guided visits.
