Country Club of Charleston in Charleston, SC Wedding Venue

The Professionals

I was able to work with some great professionals!

  • This was my first time playing a wedding at the Country Club of Charleston and I cannot say enough about their staff. Led by Abby Mertz, they were true professionals. Not to mention the food…it was amazing!
  • The very talented Julie Livingston took some amazing photos, as always…and I should know since she just shot my wedding in March!
  • Photo Video Booth provided by DJ Motion Pictures, which is always fun…I even had to jump in the booth a couple of times.

After a beautiful wedding ceremony at a nearby church, the guests made their way to the Country Club to cocktail hour. Having a good idea of the Bride and Groom’s musical taste, and their parents, I played a mix of standards, 60’s / 70’s, and alternative rock, such as Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Elvis, Al Green, Lumineers and Coldplay.

After introducing the wedding party and the new Mr. and Mrs. Concilio, we had our first dance, followed by the parent dances and cake cutting. Before beginning to open the food stations, Taylor’s father and mother welcomed everyone and I continued the same mix of music during dinner. After some entertaining and heartfelt speeches by the Matron of Honor and Best Man, we opened up the dance floor with an Anniversary Dance to Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran with the longest-married couple being the bride’s parents at 43 years! We then got the dancing started, and I opened with a great mix of the ’70s, ’80s, & Motown, and mixed in some country classics which the guests loved. I continued the same mix for the next hour but mixed in some more current pop, but for the last 45 minutes, I kept everyone on the dance floor with the wedding classics and sing-a-longs. There were some great MJ dance-offs by some of the groomsmen around that time as well which got the crowd going!

We ended the night with a mix of Friends in Low Places, Shout, Don’t Stop Believin’, and Take Me Home Tonight, which capped off a great night on what was a beautiful day.

Thank you again, Taylor and PC! It was an honor DJing your wedding, and congratulations again to the new Mr. & Mrs. Taylor & Pasquale Concilio!

DJing is more than just showing up and pressing play. It’s also more than just knowing how to choose songs and mix them together. Begin a wedding DJ is about creating experiences and atmospheres. That’s what our DJing philosophy boils down to. We don’t want to just provide the perfect music. We want to create the perfect day. That’s why we excel in what we do. And this wedding was a perfect example of that. Working with this awesome couple to create the day they envisioned is something we’ll never forget. And it’s a service we provide all our Charleston Weddings again and again.
