The Carolina Club – Chapel Hill, NC Wedding Venue

Sample Wedding at The Carolina Club

Nisha and Tom had a marathon of a day on the Sunday before Memorial Day, but it was all totally awesome! The day began at 3:30 pm with a traditional Christian ceremony officiated by one of Nisha’s former UNC professors. It was short and sweet. We provided the microphone and the pre-recorded music for that portion of the day. After that ceremony, guests were treated to coffee, tea, and snacks outside. The next ceremony was a traditional Indian ceremony, a lot longer, but with so many interesting elements all of which were listed in the program so guests that were not familiar could read along with what was going on. I had a microphone on the priest and also did the music for this ceremony as well. After this second ceremony, the bar opened and cocktail hour began outside on the porch.

After cocktail hour, the guests were seated in The Carolina Club’s ballroom, now with the air walls down and the room flipped. It looked like a completely different place! I got everyone ready for introductions. Nisha and Tom entered to “Good To Be Alive” by Andy Grammar and then went into their first dance “Swept Away (Sentimental Version)” by Avett Brothers. Nisha’s dad welcomed the guests and then speeches began. Several speeches took place, but the cool part was that they were broken up by dance performances. So fun! As speeches came to a close, Nisha and Tom thanked everyone for coming, and then the buffet opened. Tons of great Indian food!

As dinner wrapped up, they cut the cake, and Nisha and her dad danced to “It’s For My Dad” by Nancy Sinatra. Finally, it was time to really DJ! I had a huge list of songs to get through-from 90s hip hop and dance to present-day hits to Bollywood and Indian party songs! It was quite the mix, but I made it work and the dance floor was jumping! The night wrapped around 11 pm to the sounds of James Taylor’s classic “Carolina In My Mind”. Becca with C&D Events did an amazing job planning this one! Hats off to her and her team!  I can’t wait to see the pics from Michael Escobar Photography!

Bunn DJ Company believes DJing is more than just showing up and pressing play. It’s also more than just knowing how to choose songs and mix them together. Being wedding DJs at The Carolina Club in Chapel Hill is about creating experiences and atmospheres. That’s what our DJing philosophy boils down to. We don’t want to just provide the perfect music. We want to create the perfect day. That’s why we excel in what we do. And this wedding was a perfect example of that. Working with this awesome couple to create the day they envisioned is something we’ll never forget. And it’s a service we provide all our weddings again and again.
