Charleston Yacht Club in Charleston, SC Wedding Venue

Jackie Bergey and Kevin Foutz made the trip from their home in Sanford, NC to Charleston and were married on Valentine’s Day at the beautiful Charleston Yacht Club. They were joined by about 85 family members and friends, and being that Kevin and Jackie are both in the military, they had family and friends coming from everywhere, albeit Arizona, Florida, Michigan, and Colorado just to name a few places.

I was very fortunate to work with some amazing vendors on this wedding. Photographer Kayla Pettis was awesome and took some amazing pictures. I cannot wait to see the final shots, they are going to be great. She also provided the photo booth which I definitely enjoyed! Cru Catering provided some unbelievable pulled pork, check out the picture which cannot even come close to doing it justice!

Jackie and Kevin were married on the deck of the Charleston Yacht Club with the Ashley River as the perfect backdrop as well as a beautiful sunset. Jackie and Kevin, being beer connoisseurs, had a “beer ceremony” as part of their vows which was a first for me, but definitely cool!

After guests enjoyed some cocktails on the deck, with some heaters going, the guests made their way into the reception hall where I then introduced the new Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Foutz to “Burn It Down” by AWOLNATION. The newlyweds then danced their first dance as husband and wife to “A Million Years” by Alexander. After the first dance, Jackie danced with her father to “In Your Time” by Bob Seger. Kevin and his mother danced to “My Mother Eyes” by George Jessel. The bride and groom added a nice touch by asking the other fathers and daughters and mothers and sons in attendance to join them halfway through the parent dances.

After some amazing food, catching up with family and friends, and funny and very heartfelt speeches by the Matron of Honor and Best Man, we opened up the dance floor with “If I Had a Million Dollars” by Barenaked Ladies and the bride and her sister, the Maid of Honor, sang a duet. I knew they were going to be a great crowd right when I walked into the building.

I played everything, and I mean everything! From Don McLean, Bob Seger, Vanilla Ice, Ini Kamoze, Tone Loc, and The Lumineers, Vampire Weekend, Counting Crows, and Billy Idol. The bride and groom also held a couple of money dances, the first to Zac Brown’s “Whatever It Is” and Bob Seger’s You’ll Accompany Me.” We closed the night out with “Uptown Funk” and everyone still wanted to party, they were all awesome!

This was one of the most fun weddings I have had the privilege of working and was very fortunate to get to know Jackie and Kevin. We all at Bunn DJ Company wish Jackie and Kevin all the best and a lifetime of happiness!

DJing is more than just showing up and pressing play. It’s also more than just knowing how to choose songs and mix them together. Begin a wedding DJ is about creating experiences and atmospheres. That’s what our DJing philosophy boils down to. We don’t want to just provide the perfect music. We want to create the perfect day. That’s why we excel in what we do. And this wedding was a perfect example of that. Working with this awesome couple to create the day they envisioned is something we’ll never forget. And it’s a service we provide all our Charleston Weddings again and again.
