I took a road trip east this past weekend to Abilena Plantation in New Bern, NC. Brett and Taylor’s reception surely looked to be a rainout as the guests arrived for cocktail hour. The wind started blowing, the napkins were flying, and the tent was shaking, but someone somewhere was looking out for them and soon enough it all stopped a rainbow came out just as they were finishing their pre-reception photos with Cara Galati of F8 Photo Studios. Wow, what a sight!
Soon after their photos, it was time for introductions. The bridal party entered to “Marry You” by Bruno Mars. When Taylor and Brett walked in, I cranked their intro song “You Make My Dreams Come True” by Hall & Oates. The guests were on their feet and cheering! They went right into their first dance “Everything I Do, I Do It For You” by Bryan Adams. The bride’s father then welcome everyone, the blessing was said and the buffet dinner was opened.
As dinner came to a close, we did the toasts and the cake cutting. Next, Brett and her father danced to “I Loved Her First” by Heartland, and Taylor and his mom danced to “Like Jesus Does” by Eric Church. After that, it was time to move the big head table and clear some room for some dancing! The guests hit the floor to oldies and beach music early on, but we turned the corner to newer stuff by the end of the night. What a party! It rocked. Shout out to Stephanie and Lauren with Viva L’Event for doing another fantastic job of keeping the night flowing.
DJing is more than just showing up and pressing play. It’s also more than just knowing how to choose songs and mix them together. Begin a wedding DJ is about creating experiences and atmospheres. That’s what our DJing philosophy boils down to. We don’t want to just provide the perfect music. We want to create the perfect day. That’s why we excel in what we do. And this wedding was a perfect example of that. Working with this awesome couple to create the day they envisioned is something we’ll never forget. And it’s a service we provide all our Raleigh Weddings again and again.
