Bay 7

What can we say about our love for Bay 7? This gorgeous two-story venue is clad with panoramic windows, exposed brick walls, and wood + steel accents for the perfect urban chic wedding venue in the heart of Durham’s American Tobacco District. That means it’s only a short walk to guest accommodations, as well as the city’s top restaurants and bars. (Did someone say afterparty?!)

Bay 7 is the ideal destination for Raleigh couples that want an all-inclusive wedding experience. With ceremony and reception spaces onsite, Bay 7 also provides exclusive catering services through The Angus Barn, in-house furniture rentals, and an audiovisual setup that will keep guests entertained all night long.

Melrose Knitting Mill

Max. Capacity: 180 people

The Melrose Knitting Mill is one of the best Raleigh wedding venues around! Situated on Dawson Street in downtown Raleigh, this one-of-a-kind space was designed with the stylish Raleigh wedding in mind. Exposed brick, crystal chandeliers, and grand floor-to-ceiling windows make this venue a beautifully rustic blank canvas for creative couples to bring their design ideas to life.

History buffs will especially love this historic wedding venue, which was built in 1900 as a—you guessed it—textile mill! Plus, engaged couples in the Raleigh area don’t have to worry about extra catering contracts. The Melrose Knitting Mill provides in-house food and beverage service through their exclusive catering partner, Mulino Italian Kitchen (which is onsite!).

Merrimon Wynne House

Be still our Southern-loving hearts! The Merrimon Wynne House offers several spaces to tie the knot, from its sprawling Lawn to the luxurious Carriage House. When you book your Raleigh wedding at Merrimon Wynne, you gain access to the whole property for the day, so you can make it your own!

In terms of amenities, Merrimon Wynne offers a selection of bar packages to suit your needs and provides all guests with a Preferred Vendor list to choose the perfect caterer and planner to bring their Raleigh wedding day to life. The Umstead Hotel and Spa

The Umstead Hotel and Spa is truly a hidden gem of the greater Raleigh wedding scene. Carolina Grove

If ethereal is your aesthetic, look no further than Carolina Grove for your dream Raleigh wedding. (Cue all the heart eyes!) With 65 acres of natural beauty, this wedding venue is a little bit off the beaten path in Hillsborough (just 45 minutes from downtown Raleigh) — but that’s what makes this space truly special! Get away from the city and celebrate your love with friends and family while getting back to your roots.

Weddings at Carolina Grove include private use of the entire property, access to two dressing spaces, farmhouse-style rentals, lounge furniture, and on-site staff. Oh, and did we mention the speakeasy-inspired downstairs lounge? Yeah, you’re going to want to have a few drinks down there.

The Rand-Bryan House

Max. Capacity: 250+ people

This quaint Raleigh wedding venue is just 20 minutes south of the city, situated on the eastern tip of Lake Benson. History lovers will appreciate knowing that this family-owned property has been owned and operated by the same family since the 1700s when it was acquired from the King of England. That’s right; this land has been in their family since before the birth of our nation!

In the 1800s, the family built the property that stands to this day (although it has been renovated to accommodate beautiful weddings and events!). Today, the family provides engaged Raleigh couples with indoor and outdoor spaces to say “I do” in its idyllic surroundings. They offer a number of packages to upgrade your wedding experience, with each package including custom wedding coordination services.

The Historic Wakefield

Max. Capacity: 350+ people

The Historic Wakefield is actually the sister venue to our #2 selection on this list, the Melrose Knitting Mill. But, where the Melrose Knitting Mill offers an urban aesthetic, the Historic Wakefield is all about open-air, rolling pastures, and all of the farmhouse glory you could ever ask for! Located just 30 minutes from downtown Raleigh, visiting the Historic Wakefield is like stepping into another world.

Between The Barn’s rustic features to the charming dressing rooms (aptly named The Mint Julep and The Tack Room!) to the lush pastures filling the area, Raleigh couples and their guests can enjoy all that Southern hospitality has to offer with just a short drive from the city. The Stockroom at 230

Max. Capacity: 200

Tucked in the heart of downtown Raleigh, The Stockroom at 230 offers everything a city wedding venue should! It’s central to Raleigh’s finest accommodations, restaurants, bars, and museums. Exposed brick walls are paired with beautiful wooden beams to create a space that is gorgeous as-is while accommodating any number of custom design themes.

Note: For engaged couples looking for a modern, intimate Raleigh wedding experience, check out The Glass Box, located upstairs from The Stockroom at 230. Due to COVID, their current capacity is 20 people, making it the perfect setting for micro-weddings, elopements, bridal showers, and other smaller celebrations. North Carolina Museum of Art

Max. Capacity: 275 people

For the art enthusiast and the contemporary couple alike, the North Carolina Museum of Art provides a unique backdrop for a wedding with its outdoor sculpture gardens and bright, airy indoor galleries. Located just 15 minutes from downtown Raleigh, the NC Museum of Art is easily accessible and provides a memorable experience for all wedding guests.

Better yet, the Museum serves as a one-stop-shop for any Raleigh wedding. Grand Marquise Ballroom

The Grand Marquise Ballroom is located in Anfesa’s Jewelers just south of Raleigh, so you can get the best of both worlds: Shop for your wedding bands, tour your venue, the works! This luxury Raleigh wedding venue was designed with the glam couple in mind — if you aren’t sparing any detail on your wedding day, this spot is for you! Just picture yourself talking down the grand staircase with all eyes on you. Swoon.
