Sheraton Raleigh Hotel Wedding Venue

Jacqueline and Chris’ wedding at The Sheraton in downtown Raleigh, NC. It was a small reception with just over 50 people, but as you’ll read soon, it doesn’t take a huge crowd to have a huge party!

The Intros and Special Dances

Guests arrived around 4 pm outside the ballroom where we had music playing for cocktail hour. After cocktails, I got everyone lined up for the introduction to The Black Eyed Peas’ “Let’s Get it Started” which got everyone fired up. When Chris and Jacqueline entered, I switched songs to American Authors’ “Best Day of My Life” cut right to the chorus. What a perfect start to the day. The couple then went right into their first dance “Thinking out Loud” by Ed Sheeran. I still love this song so much! It never gets old to me. Jacqueline stayed out on the floor to dance with her father to Tim McGraw’s “My Little Girl” and Chris and his mom danced to “My Wish” by Rascal Flatts. After that, their deacon blessed the food and then the buffet opened. The food was excellent! They actually invited me to eat, which was a treat!

The Dancing

Once dinner wrapped, we moved into toasts by the best man and maid of honor and then open dancing for a while. Although small, this crowd came to dance! I played a mix of everything from the couple’s playlist (which was great) and pretty much every song rocked the dance floor! After about an hour, we took a break to cut the cake to “Honey Bee” by Blake Shelton. After that, we went ahead and knocked out the bouquet toss to “Wishing and Hoping” from My Best Friend’s Wedding Soundtrack. Chris then took off Jacqueline’s garter to “Pony” by Ginuwine and tossed it to “You Shook Me All Night Long” by AC/DC. After that, more dancing all the way to the very end! We closed out the night with “Shout” and sent everyone home exhausted. What a party! Shout out to Christin with Dolled Up and Planned Out for keeping the night moving and the decor (which our uplights looked great with). Also, can’t wait to see photos from Jesse Roberts!

DJing is more than just showing up and pressing play. It’s also more than just knowing how to choose songs and mix them together. Begin a wedding DJ is about creating experiences and atmospheres. That’s what our DJing philosophy boils down to. We don’t want to just provide the perfect music. We want to create the perfect day. That’s why we excel in what we do. And this wedding was a perfect example of that. Working with this awesome couple to create the day they envisioned is something we’ll never forget. And it’s a service we provide all our Raleigh Weddings again and again.
